First Time to the Bahamas

Last season we did the FL gulf coast, Keys, Atlantic ICW, and the Chesapeake western shore living aboard for 8 months.
Now we'd like to try the Abacos but have some questions:
1. Towing - we have unlimited Boat US. Sounds like the Abacos are covered.
2. Health insurance? Dan Boater? Something else?
3. Sims cards? should I get them for my 2 phones and a hotspot? or are they unreliable for emailed weather.
4. We have Sirius XM Weather. Will it work in the Abacos? XM says no. What about an OCENS rental?
5. Weather routing? Do they provide weather windows, routing, safe anchorage recommendations, when to move, etc.
6. Finally COVID and hurricane Dorian damage. Is it too soon to go?
Thanks

Re: First Time to the Bahamas

I had a great season last year in the Abacos and the Bahamas. I don’t know about towing. I sail so I figure I could get close to where I need to go. When I arrive I get an ALIV SIM card for my phone and it works great. Included are all calls to the USA and Canada. I use the phone as a hot spot for other devices. I got good reception with Sirius XM for weather and music. I receive the usual info but nexrad does not cover more than 100 miles or so from usa. The health visa includes evacuation insurance so I plan on getting to the USA and using my health insurance there is something serious happens. Dorian effects are still very visible but not really limiting. The locals really appreciate all visitors.
I plan on going again. But will keep an eye on the changing Covid rules on the official Bahamas website.
