Oy oy oy ;-(

Too bad. I was reading just yesterday about a huge fire in Cowes where 30 wooden classics went to smoke!

Oy oy oy.

Other than the fact that the owner wasn't onboard and the fire began while tied to a dock in front of 10-20 thousand witnesses, I suppose it's possible.

Another large yacht sank yesterday too offshore in the Mona Passage 100 miles from Puerto Rico. That would make more sense if you were trying to collect on insurance.

Couple weeks ago there was a 4 alarm fire at a boat maintenance facility on a Sunday night just near our marina.
400 boats destroyed at an estimated $25 million. Our boats are now covered with soot.

If you can afford one like that, I feel for the insurance co. and those others paying premiums.

Yep, highly unlikely it will cost the owner more than the deductible...then again the deductible is probably more than my boat is worth.

OK I believe everything referencing said remark has been removed.
Whenever there is doubt I guess best to default to most conservative response and remove

Re: How to lose $2.5 million in a hurry

Intent is I believe very important as is context.
If your from the South and someone smiles and says "bless their little heart" even though they are smiling and it sounds nice, trust me, they are not being complimentary.
People can be VERY offensive, and yet if you look literally at what is said, they said nothing offensive.
They converse is true.
Any offensive remark has been removed, and if any was left it was a mistake, please let's move on?

Re: How to lose $2.5 million in a hurry

I feel bad for the other policy holders with that insurance company. You know they're just going to spread that loss all over everyone else. I wonder what started the fire? I imagine it's pretty difficult to determine the source after a fire like that, especially on a boat.
