Internet in fort myers area

Hi! We are going to have a trip on Tuesday from fort myers to Marathon island. Will we be able to use att internet on the way?

Where is Marathon Island? Are you referring to the city of Marathon on Vaca Key, FL? If so, you'll not have Internet for much or the passage.

Having done the trip many times, the answer is yes/no/ It depends.

From Ft MEYERS to Marco it depends on how far offshore you wonder. If you wonder way off you can lose it.

From Marco to Cape Sable it really depends on how far off and atmospheric conditions.

From cape sable on, almost certainly no coverage until closing on Marathon.

Good reason to carry an EPIRB! Although USSCG VHF coverage is excellent throughout.

My wife needs to take class on zoom on this day. Class is at 6 pm. I hope we get to Marathon by this time or she will miss the class )

That is EXACTLY what I would recommend for the first day, particularly if you need internet in the evening.


Marinas with good overnight and refueling point as well.
