Is Sailing the Bay Islands Safe ?

We have spent lots of time in the Bay islands and they are about as safe as your hometown USA or Canada. Fear is a popular book these days but put it down, get a life and go and have some fun. The Bay Islands are home to the second largest reef in the world and the diving is terrific, cheap and terrific. Great super markets, better than Belize and the Rio and transportation is also very cheap. The locals treat you very well and are a pleasure to be around. Typical weather this time of the year is wonderful. OK that's the Bay Islands.
Forget the mainland, it's not a safe place to cruise, it's not safe to stop there and when your travelling back and forth give the mainland a minimum of 15 miles clearance....our personal limits. We also only travel at night when making that passage, which we have often.
So mainland Honduras, forget it. Bay Islands Honduras..go there, it's a wonderful place in every way.

Is not this forum about the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean? You are in the wrong ocean. As I said this P.E. is a secluded anchorage on the Honduran coast, not really a port or town as such and may not appear on charts of the area.
