as global travelers i dont think we can deny that smokes are a staple in almost every other country in the world. used as currency too. i think we must just accept it with adults, and try to prevent it in the next generation. i work with people from many countries in the world and having a %100 anti smoking around me would be a deal braker and even an insult with buisiness persons from alot of countries. i just put up with it and respect there habit.

i think ill just ask them to smoke on deck and be sure to put it out properly. i think a grill would have more open flames than a cig.

fyi i dont smoke.

so i guess i should see if the duty is worth the cost. i think a pack of us made marlboro's would go pretty far to say thanks.

A "reasonable" amount of cigs on board when you enter the Bahamas can be declared along with other provisions as general "Ship stores". Just do not fill the boat! They (Customs) will get annoyed. IMHO I think Bahamainans smoke much less than the folks that cruise their beautiful waters. Check Bahamas customs website for details but remember they are often written for travelers arriving by air. "Ship Stores" is a much broader term.

The official stance is 200 cigarettes (a carton) allowed into the Bahamas (or one pound of tobacco for us hand rollers). Based on new federal taxes and a new state of Florida tax, it may be cheaper to buy over there.
