North America to Europe During Summer?

Hi, I would like crew on a boat over the Atlantic this summer 2011 from North America to Europe.
I have seen that many boats are sailing over in the beginning of May from the Caribbean, because of the hurricane season.
I wonder if anyone knows if it is common cross the Atlantic during June-August?
What is the weather condition?

I just want to know if it reasonable to think that I will find a boat to sail with. I am thinking to find a boot somewhere on the east cost of US.

Hi Elise - I think it will be possible for you; the 51 foot, "Star Chaser" did a W-E crossing via the Azores in July last year. I am also looking for a berth on a W-E sailboat crossing starting in late June from, say, Florida to anywhere in Europe via the Azores. I have a RYA competant crew cert (2011) and am prepared to pay the going rate, which is around $3,000 plus. Good luck, Elise!
