Recommendation of boatyard on South Carolina coast?

We're soon buying a 40 foot boat in South Carolina, and I'd like to get it hauled and bottom painted and maybe some various small jobs done on it. I've looked into boatyards around Charleston and they seem pricey. (But maybe I just need to update my notions of what normal pricing is!) We can bring it anywhere up or down the coast, maybe into NC or GA, but would prefer SC. If you have a favorite boatyard anywhere in SC, please let me know!
Good rates for hauling/launching and labor is what I'm seeking right now. Down the road, good rates for off-season storage on the hard would be a plus.
And maybe those two things will be found at two different yards...

Re: Recommendation of boatyard on South Carolina coast?

I'm in Charleston and have used three yards here; Ross Marine, Safe Harbor City Boatyard and Cooper River Boatyard. Safe Harbor is by far the most expensive. I have had good experiences with both Ross Marine and Cooper River BY. Ross is probably a bit more powerboat oriented, but they have capable techs there. You might also consider Marine Propulsion down at Rockville, but they are very small and somewhat limited.
