Recommendations for Boatyards in Tampa / St. Pete Area

Need to have my Taswell 44's bottom soda blasted, epoxy coated, and bottom painted. Looking for a yard in the Tampa/St. Pete area.

Will have the yard do the work, but would like to find a place where they can use an airless sprayer to apply the undercoat and bottom paint.

Any suggestions?

You might try Snead Island Boat Works in Palmetto, on the Manatee River in South Tampa Bay (941-722-2400). Gary Alderman has been taking care of our boats for 20+ years and the yard does good work. As for your other post regarding a marina, take a look at ActiveCaptain which lists the marinas in the Tampa area on their interactive charts.

FWIW...

Another boat yard I have used for exactly what you want is Embrey Marine in St. Petersburg. Tell Chad I recommended his yard.

Re: Recommendations for Boatyards in Tampa / St. Pete Area

Several years ago we used Progressive Boat Yard in St. Pete (about 100 miles from home). They did a good job but it was a hassle. Because of their location, they required us to remove ALL electronics from the boat and take them with us. Of course, this meant re-installing everything when they put her back in the water which delayed our departure.
