Red Shanks / Sand Dollar Beach, Exuma

The popular RED SHANKS area will be off limits as an achorage this season in Exuma. Some locals are using the area to try and initiate a large scale conch farm to aid in the diminishing conch populations. It seems as if they are really pushing for boaters / cruisers to use the 200 moorings that will be in place from Hamburger to just past Volleyball Beach.

SAND DOLLAR beach area will be reserved for visiting yachts and/or vessels over 45' in length.

Flamingo Bay, across from February Point will be offering moorings for $18/week. It is a farther dighy ride to town and to other cruiser related activities but a good option if you do not want to be trapped in what will now be a virtual and floating mobile park.
