Rock Climbing in the Bahamas

Spent some time last Spring exploring the climbing potential in Eleuthera. It's good! Any other climbers out there know of areas to climb in the bahamas?

Re: Rock climbing in the Bahamas

I know of some cave diving there but that's a different kind of vertical...

BTW, great picture :-) Did you mean to take the plunge?

Ha! Yes, I get it now. I just looked at your blog and see there's no rappel needed. Looks fantastic.

Height is erroneous. Does it have exposed cliffs like Eleuthera?

We found a few caves on cliff faces to explore in Little Harbor on Abico.

Also, you can do the cliff faces and sea caves on Lake Superior. Lake Superior's Apostle Island Sea Caves Open for the First Time in Years, and They'll Mystify You (PHOTOS) - weather.com

Re: Rock climbing in the Bahamas

Not Bahamas, but a friend of mine in Thailand has some great cliffs out of the water he climbs on, sometimes with a belayer on a boat, or sometimes jumping off like that.

Re: Rock climbing in the Bahamas

Well, you started out with an island whose average height above sea level is like 5' so there's a lot of room to work your way up. We do a lot of rock climbing from the boat.

Here's a picture of my son ready to drop. The cliff goes on up about another 1,500'. I'd guess Mark will know where the photo was taken.
