Taxi in St. Lucia

My wife and I will be flying into HWN on St Lucia on a Monday afternoon and will need a taxi to Rodney Bay. Is this something I should
arrange for in advance or will I be able to just grab a taxi at the airport when I arrive?.

Lar.

12 days, can't wait.

Lar,

You will be able to catch a taxi at the airport and it will take you right to Rodney Bay. You will love the area, just down from Rodney Bay is (we actually walked it, however, it is a hike) a large hill, you can hike to the top. Great view, and at the bottom is a great little cafe, it is right on the water. Great place to have a cold beer and food.

Hope you have a great time.

Thanks Mike,
Actually won't have much time on the island. We are heading to the grenadines for a 2 week sailing trip. Do have a day on our return and are planning a hike into the rain forest in the south part of the island.

Its a long drive, from one end of the island to the other. Agree the price up front and make sure that you both understand which dollars you are talking about! Too many tourists have agreed a price believing it to be in the local Eastern Caribbean dollar, only to have US dollars demanded at the other end.
Enjoy one of our favorite islands

The cab fare is $75 US. Takes a long time! Very scenic. Cabs in St Lucia are zone based fares and they have no meters. Taxis are always a mini van. The airport cabs are almost always perfectly fine. Downtown Castries when the cruise ships are in you want to be very careful. Odd thing is they most all speak very good english unlike here at home.

My wife and I were married there in 2000 and we go back every year.
