Why not?
It might be too late, but a National Park service situation might work for them.

We were just hoping to contribute our services in what way we can. It is not about being liberal or conservative, just about offering what we are able to give and provide and seeking to fulfill a dream.

I am aware of the challenges of seafare. We are interested in the possibility of contributing what we can contribute.

Thanks for your perspective. It is not our intention to anger anyone.

Good luck.

THE RED LETTERS

They are there, because you are asking me, us to promote you. I have no idea who you are, and what your abilities are. It was your second, or third post? I clicked on the link, and got zip, nada, and from there it just looked like a hustle.

Now the link works, and there is a bit of detail of who you are, and what would fit for you. It does give me a much better feeling for your request. BEST WISHES in these tough times finding something suitable for you 3 to stay together.....i2f

thanks

Thanks for the responses so far.

I've come to learn that you all see scams pretty often and it makes sense that people would view new petitions with suspicion. It was my interest to make our situation and quest a little more legitimate and sincere by providing our info and goals on the website.

To those who have responded so far, thank you for your feedback and/or advice.

Hopefully, our info can help people get a good, initial understanding of who we are and what we would like to do. Moreover, we would like for people to view our effort as optimistic and realistic. We realize it is a big dream and we realize nothing comes for free, However, it is our dream and we might never get it unless we try.

We are also open to creative suggestions and insightful critique and welcome anyone to provide us with advice.

We look forward to seeing this through.

Thanks again,
John and Kathryn

Finding a fit for your situation in boating may be difficult though not impossible. The problem is most positions will be found on larger boats aka mega yachts which usually require more skills and experience than you show on your web site. I have occasionally heard of positions for tutoring but do not recall seeing one that would welcome children as part of the deal. There are also occasional crew positions that do not require extensive skills but again, these do not usually offer the option of bringing children. A partner that can contribute in other areas in the crew is more possible.

The problem with smaller boats is there are few positions on smaller boats and even less room to bring the whole family.

Your idea is worth a shot and you might get lucky but I would keep looking at other options as well.

Thanks Skipmac. We are chasing down all avenues and we appreciate your advice. MY child is a bonus addition and will join us ONLY if the perfect situation avails itself. Otherwise, he will just join us for a brief time. I would love to have him experience as much of travel and seafare at an early age as possible. That's why we shot big on that portion of our dream. Do you think it turns people off because they view it as a 3 person deal or did we explain it effectively that we are flexible with one, two, or three positions? It is so hard to communicate everything from so far away.

I understand there is a large contengent to St. John's folks here in Asheville. I'm on the lookout for them. Apparently, there is a group of people from St. John's who play music in a band every week at a local bar here. Strange huh? The world seems very small sometimes.

I appreciate your response. Thanks again for your critique and advice.

Cheers.
