Upper East Coast Summer Cruise

Hello,
Making Lemonade...we cannot get into the EU to pick up our boat, so shipping her to the East Coast. (OUCH!) We expect to leave Annapolis about June 15 and work our way North with a one week break early July to fly back for a wedding.

Plan is to meet friends in Sag, for a couple of days late July then work our way up the coast to Maine for August then hit the 'names' (Block, Martha's, Providence) after Labor day while working our way back to Annapolis for the show and prep for the Salty Dawg.

We are not Marina people and would like some advice on 'Don't Miss' places to go where we can moor or anchor and enjoy a day or two at a time. (We have a Cat w/a 3' draft - so maybe that opens up some possibilities)

We intend to keep moving (I have the Taft's Book - wow) and clearly you could spend of whole summer in just one bay, but we would like to get the flavor sample and who knows? if the EU is closed next year we will come back for an extended summer of cruising.

With that draft there are spots on the south of cape cod you can sneak in to. And lake tashmoo on the vineyard.
Essex mass too.
There are a few threads here with great advice but they don’t always call out the shoal harbors.
