2 Weeks in Bahamas at xmas realistic?

Due to changes in my wife's job I have to cut this winter's cruise short and be back in Atlanta around Jan 15th. I'm currently in Key Largo (writing this at the bar in Gilbert's) and the wife is in Atlanta.

I'd love to go to the Bahamas but I'm wondering how realistic it is. She could hop the next thing smoking into Miami and we could be ready to leave in a week, say Nov 20. Given the time of year and uncertain weather I think at best we'd have 2 weeks before I need to start getting the boat northwards to Melbourne where we have a slip to leave it for a few months.

Given the weather this time of year and the short days, is this even feasible for a couple of coastal cruisers with 2 Keys winters under our belts?

Also, how much of a pain is it to travel there with a cat?

Sure, you could have fun with two weeks and it is a nice angle to sail to say Gun Cay or Bimini from Key Largo. You could then go to the Berries and poke around, or maybe head up to the Abacos. I wouldn't try to get to the Exumas and back. The cat is another problem. I think that is tricky, but I am no expert on pets in the Bahamas. I just know that you need certificates from a vet and stuff within certain time parameters. https://www.pettravel.com/immigration/bahamas.cfm
