Oh, I dunno... maybe another year of planning the budget would be better... you just can't be too well prepared, ya know!

I think Sailorboy has done a better job of planning than most cruisers, it's time to go... I wish him well.

Get started before it's too late, time is short.

Well, when you do go, I have a favor to ask.
Keep us updated on actual vs expected costs please?

Sure, if I'm in the same place as you. Please send me your schedule as from my understanding of Aussie drinking I probably need to put this into the budget

Re: $3,000 / Month Cruising Budget Planned

Just for fun last year we cruised The Exumas and Florida for 4 months for less than $55 a day. Now that's not including our insurance and off season storage. But those are individual variables.
Yes we motored and went out for dinner. Spent every night not the hook except for 2days at the dock in Bimini and 8 days on mooring balls. Ate well and didn't scrimp on wine and beer. Menus were offset with caught fish and not dependant on catching fish.
You can work on any budget big or small. Just need to commit to it. Get out there and see what it's al about and go from there.

We forgot to mention the "Cruisers Forum Advisory Fee"... its in the small print under the policies page. It says you must deposit 1% of your yearly income into the bank account of each cruisers forum net member whom contributed to your planning.

Go look I'll wait. I have my offshore bank account number ready to send to your banker.

I've been poor (by my standards, not Bangladesh), and like Winnie, better off is----better!
Over the years, we've known lovely people from both ends of the spectrum, financially.

Honestly, if you've the intelligence to make enough money for a 3k/mo budget, you can probably figure out how to live on a heck of a lot less. Too much dallying after the boat is ready generally indicates that something else is bothering you.

Its funny having these conversations sometimes because that statement is so true! I can't imagine someone from Bangladesh signing onto this forum and their reaction to the threads "Can I live on $500 a month? Maybe I need $3000?"
