Advice buying a slip in New England (brand new member!)

First, I'd like to say how grateful I am to the CruisersForum community. I just registered today and hope to make many future contributions! What a wonderful resource!

My wife and I are interested in joining a yacht club and purchasing a slip (buy not rent). We cruise the Caribbean in the Winter and return to the North East Coast for Hurricane Season and visit family. Here is a list of our criteria:

* Purchase Slip, not rent
* Relative Safety From Hurricanes
* Although we likely will not liveaboard, we prefer no restrictions
* Deep enough to accommodate a large sailboat keel (draft 8ft)
* Access to Shipyard for Haul-Out, Dry Storage, Repair and Maintenance
* Affordable, competitive pricing
* Close to a Metropolitan City (Not Baltimore)
* The Less Polluted the Better
* Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island

Any advice you would have to assist me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much,
-Seth
