Advice for newbie

Hi there,

I'm fairly new to sailing and I'm about to finish the last of my remaining sailing lessons and I'm looking to buy something to continue sailing. I live in the Philippines and there are not a lot of Marinas that are reasonably priced and nearby. Would love to hear your experience on the matter.

What I'm looking for - something trailerable, simple to set up, can accommodate 2-4 people on occasion but mostly just me.

I'm considering buying a 20 foot sailboat or a weta. For some reason I came across the weta and saw it as a viable option for something I can sail every weekend. I wanted a trailer sailer like the first 20 or 25 but was worried about the difficulty of having to trailer and setup something so big would make me not sail as much as I intend to. Another concern for trailer sailers would be the toilet situation. My wife will not want to use a port a potty so I'm thinking they would have the same use for me.

Would a weta be a cheaper and easier alternative to a trailer sailer or would having a small cabin in the boat without a toilet be worth the extra money.

Appreciate any recommendations or info you guys can provide.

Cheers,
Raymond
