Get: the gentleman's guide to passage south: the thornless path
it worked for me, plus maptech chart books and a good GPS plotter and a b class ais system. Go threw Bahamas, turks, DR and P.R.

When you clear in to the bahamas and pay your 150 dollar fee it includes a fishing permit, although you may have to ask for it. Just remember the turks and caicos are not part of the bahamas so that would be another clearance.

Let's not forget many here are not US citizens or their boats registered there.

Yes, there are potentially some implications as far as returning to the US within a 6 month period, but that stipulation's enforcement is less and less as one first lands further north from Key West.

As this is an international forum, information posted is worthwhile.
