Re: Aft vs Center Cockpit

Sailormat worked great. It handled all conditions including a really big blow in the Tasman running under bare poles, and, best of all, motoring in dead calms thru Indonesia. 6 knots of apparent wind would get it to steer. broke one shear joint on its main rudder, surfing at night with a squall in the northern Cooks, but the shear joint did its job and the main rudder was tethered and surfed along behind until I could hoist it aboard.Had a spare shear joint and had it reinstalled and operating in a few minutes once I got way of the boat.
only caution is that the top of the steering arm is quite sharp and will deflate an inflatable quite rapidly if you're dumb enough to tie up the dink on the wrong side!
