Airport pick-up???

Hi everybody,
Where is the best place to anchor for a day or so and get family member from the Miami airport for the holiday period?
Someone suggested no name but it seems like a long dinghy ride?
Thanks.

Just anchor off South Beach. Dink up Collins Canal and lock dink up. Take the bus and metrorail to the airport. Very good transportation system. Get all on this site.

Re: Airport pick-up???

What are your criteria for "best place to anchor"? Vasco gave you a pretty good suggestion, is there something about it that you don't like?

Trying to get close to the airport is kind of irrelevant, since you can't anchor close enough to walk anyway. You'll have to either rent a car or use public transportation. The public transportation, as Vasco mentioned, is pretty good around Miami (contrary to the rest of Florida!), so being close does not need to be a priority.

Contact HopCar for permission. It looks like his store is ~2 blocks from the rent car center at MIA. Tie your dinghy up to HopCar's doc and walk to the rent car center, have your party meet you there.
