Anchor Chains

Has anyone had any experience with MF anchor chains. They are made in Northern Italy by MF Catenificio Frigerio and supposedly have a dual galvanising which improves the longevity. No more or less expensive LoFrans Or Titan, but I hadn’t heard of them previously. I’d appreciate any feedback either way, prior to purchase of a new chain for the boat.

Re: Anchor Chains

Hi, I'm interested in your feedback if you bought the MF chain.

Re: Anchor Chains

Quite happy with MF chain so far after 3 years of mostly anchoring. I end for end the chain each year and fresh water wash it whenever we can. Cutting through a link last week showed little or no reduction in chain link diameter. G4 10mm chain

I'd be very interested in what they consider dual technology. I'll have to see if I can find any real info...

You say you cut up a link - I'd love to look at it.

Re: Anchor Chains

“Double Dip” Galvanizing results in a very slightly thicker coating, that has a tendency for increased brittleness; and the end product is no different, than if a long single immersion had been used.
