Annapolis Sail Boat Show

The Annapolis show seemed like "old times". It was damn hard to get down the gangway without spilling my pain killer. I heard a rumor that attendance was up 30%+ over last year (that would be 30% above "real small"). Hard to tell if it was "lookers" or "buyers" but at least the sales guys weren't making "coffin" jokes about what to do with a used boat.

Any other experiences?

Carl

That's funny... I've never heard of that joke or comment.. Can't believe that's their tactic on moving people towards their new stock?!?!

Had a great time! I got to catch up with my sailing buddies from twenty years back. Amazing how the camaraderie, jesting, and basic torment was started right where we left off all those years ago.

We just did a lot of research under the tents in regards to various gear. AIS seemed to be the hot topic on everyone's lips.

Seemed like there were a ton more people attending since last year.

I missed having a pain killer ;0( and the break down which I love to watch...but the weather was gorgeous and being with friends and seeing others I have not raced with in twenty years walking around was great!

I heard sales totals from Catalina, et al on Sunday and they were definiately up over prevous years. Final stats likely will be out later this week. Exhibiters I know all said business was brisk. After-show parties were awesome, as was the weather all four days. Good karma all around.
