Any advice on Greece?

Am hoping for some advice here please. We are fairly new to sailing and have sailed the beautiful Croatia Dalmation areas in 2015 & 2016. We're looking to book 2 weeks mid June to Grece and are rather torn to say the least between southern Cyclades or southern Ionian. Seems Cyclades can be a rather difficult sail and I'm not sure how rough the sea is along with the winds mid June. It seems a bit barren but the architecture looks like a photographers paradise. Ionian seems to be greener, calmer with gorgeous waters but will it deliver a truly Greek get-away for first time visitors... Tough decision, always we wish we had more time on the water...
