I pumped the jack up with an air mattress hand pump, more pressure can be added with a tyre pump. I didn't use a tyre pump in case the jack went pop. I didn't totally lift the boat with the jack , but used it more as a shock absorber as the boat came down. I would use 2 jacks to lift a hull on the beach.
That jack came off FleaBay, 4 wheel drive shops sell more expensive ones. It says designed and made in Australia, but that could have been written in China.
Brain fart. Fastback it is.

Cheers

Ian, BOM saying there is slight chance of another Qld cyclone this season? Lets's hope not. Would you do anything differently next cyclone? And, curious as to whether you have insurance and if so are they going to come good with payout and/or cost of repairs?

I am hoping at least for some rain if not a cyclone. Have not had a decent fall in Mackay district yet this year. I would be happy will the falls Gold Coast and Brisbane have had. One fall only approaching 100mm, certainly been a dry(not) wet year here.

There's always a chance of another cyclone until you get to mid May

Hope not - because I'm planning Bne-Pom in April!

Re: Aussie Cyclones

Glad to hear you are finally out of there Ian. It looks like you have a lot of work to do but that must be one tough boat and one tough man. Cheers...
