BEST APPROACH TO CUTTYHUNK FROM NANTUCKET

considering pig& sows reef off cuttyhunk, whats the best approach to sail from nantucket? 45' beneteau Thank you!

Not familiar with that reef. Have approached both from the south or north of Nashawena Is. from Nantucket via Quick’s Hole depending on wind direction

I would go through Quicks Hole and approach Cuttyhunk from the NE.

It depends... on weather and tide. The Sow & Pigs is not exactly a nasty hazard, they are well marked and easily avoided. If a typical afternoon SE wind, I would go around the south. From Nantucket, south of Nomans Land on a beam reach and then bear away to clear the S&P.

Watch your predicted currents so you know which way you are going to be set, and lay a course to compensate at the START of the leg.
