Another vote for Ruby Rose.. I find their moaning really funny.. could sit and listen to them bicker all day! Think it must be a British humour thing. Maybe.

Also like adventures of Sprout.. mainly because they sail a KP44, but also a nice couple.

Then not strictly a sailing vlog (yet), but do watch/enjoy every video of “Sail Life” with Mads doing up his boat. Great engineer and interesting character.

I haven't seen anyone mention Venture Lives yet. A young couple on a small boat in Alaska. Very different from the typical sailing youtube channels, mostly because of location. It's pretty heavy on the "give us money" thing, though.

+1 for

followtheboat.com

Great photography and real people. Tell it how it is - give you the good and the bad.

If you are interested in Pacific cruising, they are currently in the beautiful Indonesian Islands.

If you like it but are not into regular subscriptions - you can just put something in their rum and cat food fund.

RAN Sailing https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLY...wUKhouIkHoqzMw, ransailing.se.

Swedish couple around the world. High quality videos, good D.I.Y. information source.

Re: Best Sailing channels on Youtube

There is one channel I can't stand. Won't mention their name, but the few times I've watched, theyre total lack of knowledge has had me shouting at the TV "What the?!?!" and "Are you not even going to check the engine first?!?!" Yeah they busted a belt right away. Derp. That was only the start of their self made troubles. They really should sell the boat, drive an RV.

Re: Best Sailing channels on Youtube

How far along are you with the 65' schooner? Is this a traditional plank on frame project or are you doing it with a west system or composite construction technology?

I once built a traditional 15' wooden sailboat, and it was very rewarding / time consuming / and it must be an enormous undertaking to build a 65 footer. Do you have a crew helping or is this a solo project? Can you send pictures.

I own and sail a LeComte NE 38 which I keep in Sag Harbor NY. I live in NYC and Sag Harbor and do a fair amount of single handing. Are you building on a waterfront site or in a shop somewhat distant from the water?

I hope this project is going well and would love to see some pictures. Who designed your boat?

Best wishes,

Paul

If you want to know about fibreglass or wanted to build a boat, this is worth a look.

A guy buys a mold fixes it up and makes a boat.

The early Miss Lone Star if you are into that.

These guys https://www.youtube.com/user/TalesFromTechnomadia just bought a big Bayliner with the intention of doing the Great Loop.
Somehow all the early Miss Lonestar has been removed. I heard an interview where she claims she doesn't know what happened to it and she didn't remove it. If she put it up there the she removed it! I've never seen the early videos with her ex who suppose to be in jail now for 17 yrs. but I heard they where interesting.

Re: Best Sailing channels on Youtube

I watch a lot of the sailing videos and enjoy most of them, but the one I'm not a big fan of is, The Lazy Gecko, I'm not a big fan of a guy who's willing to put he's wife/girlfriend or baby's mamma/whatever she is to him. But every video is all about her and some sexual innuendos. One week it's bikini of the week or drinking rum makes her clothes fall off or some other sexual subject and then they ask for your money and please support our porn I mean sailing videos by donating to patreon. I just have no respect for someone who's ok trading his girl for a little money. I think I'd just go get a job.

Who knows what the real story was but as I read the situation there was some sort of "rights" disagreement between the ex husband and the wife so everything that had him in it either disappeared or was severely edited.

The channel is kind of like a soap opera to e. i hardly ever watch it but often tune in to read the captions just to keep up with the story line.

I really enjoy the channel finding Simon. Guy bought an old plywood catamaran and is fixing it. No money and a nice attitude.
