I'm consoling myself with the fact that we must be 'too normal' and not making enough mistakes to be popular.
unfortunatly just being nice wholesome people with a nice boat and nice swimsuits is not enough to pique peoples interest.

content, controversy and local colour are what get likes , views and new subscribers.

how about a trip down the red sea for the winter with baby!

I'll take 'wholesome' any day and I'm glad you like my swimsuits!

Re: Best Sailing channels on Youtube

This is the thread that inspired me to "hack" together a dynamically refreshing list of sailing blogs/sites. I've yet to add the channels from this thread

The internet's most comprehensive list of sailing blogs and we don't even make that!

Even after your post following mine. I take it you're not a fan.

He also includes Slapdash and Cambrai, both of which are dead and gone :-) You're just too new and modern!

Gone with the wynns isn't there either. I've sussed it... it's obviously cat discrimination! Back to the old cat v's mono debate again!

Re: Best Sailing channels on Youtube

The cheeky monkey couple split and are selling or have sold their Helia. I'm not surprised, to be honest, after watching their films.

I think Tash has some some more films on her own? She was the one with all the personality driving the films so would still be good I reckon

No no! My omission is entirely unintentional!

It's there now. And the three others (Chase the Story, Out Chasing Stars, Ruby Rose) as well.

What I'd really like is a list of all sailing sites/channels in the universe. The rest is just a filtering problem (err I mean challenge)

Re: Best Sailing channels on Youtube

Have been watching YouTube sailing channels for a while now. My favorites:

1. Sailing Uma. Canadian guy with Haitian girlfriend on a 36' Pearson they bought cheap and refit including the installation of an electric motor. Getting ready to depart East coast of U.S.A. for Europe via Greenland. VERY HIGH production standards. Creative, artistic, interesting and educational. Highly recommended.

2. Sailing Nahoa. German/Canadian couple on a big catamaran. Currently in the Philippines. They catch a lot of BIG fish. Quality is excellent.

3. Gone with the Wynns. Couple from Texas on a BIG catamaran. Excellent quality.

4. 22 South. He's a retired professional tennis player from Spain. She's an artist from New Caladonia. Sailing the South Pacific on a steel-hull center cockpit monohull. Audio quality could be better sometimes but content is VERY good.

5. Odd Life Crafting. Just chanced across this today. Young Brazilian couple just bought a FANTASTIC 42' steel expedition boat that had been on the hard in a marina in Brazil for 15 years are so. Promises to be interesting.

OK. Those are my fav's.

Re: Best Sailing channels on Youtube

You asked for a list of all the YouTube sailing channels. Here it is: https://sailing-channels.com/

The list is current and updated dynamically.

Another source is the Rigging Doctor's second channel: www.adventuresonboats.com it has some long lists of blogs and vlogs as well as a lot of other helpful info.

Re: Best Sailing channels on Youtube

One of the best channels on sailing is "how to sail oceans" by Kevin Boothby - he sails an engineless Gillmer 31 and has amazing videos on sailing, navigation (yes, celestial too), maintenance, sculling, anchoring, etc., he even makes his own music.

The other is "Patrick Laine" - a solo sailor on a Bavaria 40 and has multiple videos on different docking techniques.

I also like "Patrick Childress sailing" channel - the couple lives on and sail a Valiant 40 and they do all the maintenance themselves. Tons of useful information including little DIY stuff to keep thieves away, how to prevent halyard slap, etc. Very experienced couple with thousands of nautical miles under their keel.

In "Sailing turtle26", the couple completely revamped their Ericson 26 (very useful info for small boat owners), trailered it from Oregon to the gulf and sailed across to the Bahamas.

Two other channels that I follow were already mentioned in this thread (Erik Aanderaa of No BS just sailing and Roger Taylor of Mingming II)
