Bimini Marina Recommendation Needed

Hi;

Friends are sailing from the Bahamas to South Florida, but the Gulf Stream look nasty for the next few days. Can anyone recommend a marina in Bimini where they could stay for a few days until the weather for the crossing improved?

Bimini Sands in S Bimini is well protected. Not a lot of infrastructure on South Island. Restaurant in marina. We waited out weather there in April. Good stay.

There's a more to see and do on N Bimini. Brown's Marina is the first on in the channel but the farthest walk to most things. Bimini Big Game Club is further in but closer to Customs and Immigration (one down the street a stone's throw and the other on site). Also, Big Game is kind of in the heart of things. If you are there on a week day, ask for directions to the shop baking Bimini Bread (on Queen's Highway).

Stay at Bimini Sands and take the ferry across to N Bimini.

We’ve stayed at both Bimini sands and browns.

We usually go to browns, it’s a short walk to the heart of town and far enough away from the power plant that you don’t hear the generators.

We have stayed at blue water marina. Its right next to big game marina but less than half the cost

Honestly, any of them work fine. It’s not complicated. We use Browns because it is cheap and easy. If you prefer more amenities, another will serve better. You get what you pay for.

Thank you all for your input. In the end my friends just kept on going without stopping in Bimini....non-stop from Grenada to Miami in 11 days on a 34 foot Hallberg Rassy. But I'll keep your input mind for future adventures.
