Boat Purchase Advice

I’m searching for a knowledgeable sailor (s) who would be willing to help me in my search for a boat.

I have low to moderate experience on the water and owned a Cape Dory 27 when I lived in FL 10 years ago. I recently spent a couple of weeks singlehanding 32 and 38 ft. charter boats. I intend to head out (likely singlehanded) for extended (months) coastal cruising after I end my current career in Oct. of 2012.

I’m thinking that, in this regard, communicating by PM or email will be the way to go. Any help will be appreciated.

Re: Boat Purchase Advice

Budget and type of boat / sailing, play a big factor. Do you want something with Shallow draft, hunkholing, or deeper draft. Accommodations required or wanted AC, watermaker, Genny, etc lots of variables largest being price to consider. I think may here would help in the search with a little more info.

Re: Boat Purchase Advice

I'm planning on investing about 100K- could be more if I finance part of it.
I'm thinking shoal draft re: coastal cruising and not intending to cross any oceans (yet). Probably won't need a watermaker in that case but the generator is something to think about and was not on my list.
I'm thinking 36-40 ft. monohull set up for singlehanding.
