Bought a boat in Norway!

Hi there. I (my UK company actually) just bought a used boat in Norway. The seller and I have filled out a long standard contract. However I have no idea what to do now Do I need to report this transaction anywhere? What do I need to do now?
I intend to sail it to a non-EU country.

1/ Register it in the country it'll be kept in.. Eg: UK get SSR.
2/ Insure it either Comprehensive or Liability Only.
Once you receive Cover Notes for the above and a copy at least of the Bill of Sale your good to go.

Re: Bought a boat in Norway!

Many thanks. I just tried "topsail" and I was awarded with:

We will get in touch
We thank you for your visiting our website and for your enquiry.
Due to the reason mentioned below we are unable to issue you with an immediate quote online.

At Topsail we have access to a number of good quality Insurers and we will contact you again shortly to let you know if we’re able to offer a quotation. In the meantime we would like to thank you for the interest you have shown in our company.

Kind regards

Re: Bought a boat in Norway!

If you are an American insuring a boat in Europe is very difficult. After a month of surveys and many, many requests from the insurer (Topsail) they finally gave me an absurd quote. Especially when I am on the last 5 weeks of our annual use of the boat. The rest of the year it is hardstanding.

As for Pantenius, they never responded to 2 emails as for a quote. I even sent them a brand new survey. Not impressed.
