Re: Bruce Robert

We have our Bruce Roberts Spray 45 Ketch For Sale and it is under $100,000. This is a Blue Water Cruiser. We are the 3rd owner, having known of the original owner who built it in 1984. It's a SOLIDLY, BUILT BOAT BY A TRUE WELDER!! We have totally refit SV Susanna, sanding to bear metal, with inspections & surveyed, new sails and electronics.
If interested search SV Susanna here or contact us SusannaCruises at gmail.com 45' Full-Keel Steel Ketch with Pilot House

Re: Bruce Robert

I have seen too many Roberts built by owners with far from brilliant welding skills and poor choice of materials.

I would not touch such a boat with a long stick.

That much said, many Roberts sailed places that no Bavaria will ever go.

I think I want to say a good Roberts is a tool for the job, a poorly built one is a disaster.

Re: Bruce Robert

Moved one for a friend once, it was a Real Dog to sail and was a thoroughly unpleasant experience even though it was a hot summers day and a solid 15Kt wind.

Re: Bruce Robert

I can vouch for the Mauritius 43, I own one and it has carried me safely down to the Auckland and Campbell Islands in the southern ocean. She sails well and has made many 200 mile days under sail, I regularly get long reaches at 8.5 knots, and she handles the big stuff like a dream.
