Buying a Boat in France no VAT paid on a TPA

Hi all

So after good survey I wish to buy a boat bought in the Caribbean and taken back to France. The Boat is on a Temporary Admission Procedure.

As a non EU member (Canadian) can I buy this boat and export before the 18 month grace period expires, without paying VAT.

Yes , no issues , it will have the remaining period of its Tpa available which you can reset.

Check clearly that it has not outstayed its TPA at any stage

Make sure all the documents are addressed outside the EU etc. Some people have removed the vessel from the EU to complete the sale but there’s no evidence this is actually required.

The UK entry to which can be provided by similar temporary admission
