Florida is like a miniature microcosm of the actual United States. East Coast people tend to land in East Coast Florida places. Mid western and West Coast people tend to land in western Florida places.

And Florida has some of the worst drivers in the universe. I have driven all over the country, all over the continent, and in many places around the world.

Florida drivers are by far the worst. You can’t go between Fort Lauderdale and Miami on route 95 and not see a car upside down on fire. Ha ha.

I attribute this to two types of people.

1) The driver that is so old they have no reflexes or ability to see anymore.

2) The driver that just migrated to the United States last week and bought their first car ever yesterday. Look out Florida, here I come. Ha ha
3) Florida Man - aggressive, young and dumb. Seriously, you leave him out and put all the blame on the old and immigrants?

I suppose all the road rageers and drive-by shooters are octogenarians and Jamaicans and Cubans? Hmmmm.

PS. But sure, FL has the worst drivers in America... Except Boston.

I almost added him. There are a few of those, but they seem to be good drivers. As in… I don’t see them crashing. Just being reckless.

I’m talking only about crashes. Not road rage.

I disagree about Boston drivers. Boston drivers are quite good. Visitors just have trouble because they can’t understand how to drive in Boston.

1) go fast
2) take right of way any time you can
3) yield to larger vehicles
4) yield to much more beat up vehicles because they’ll hit you and keep going

I think your definition and my definition of good driving differs. Some square with hands at 10 and 2 that obeys every law to a T is NOT a good driver.

People who don’t crash or cause others to crash are good drivers, especially if they excel at handling the vehicle

I moved to south Florida in 1980. I know it's not for everyone. I hope you find your comfort spot. Good luck and best wishes.

The only place I’ve ever seen worse than some metro Florida cities is Boston where I worked for and commuted to/from for 30 years.

They don’t drive in Boston, they aim their cars…

It doesn't change the reality of Florida's weather. How big is the AC on your Alden?

Do you see what I mean about my prior post listed above? Your so intent on being right that you have to be sarcastic, verbally trying to lower someones post to build yourself and your point, up. What started out with exchanging some ideas and opinions turned into your cheap shots.

Self-esteem is a by product of good living. I have that covered. I have no idea whether you have good or poor self-esteem...how would I. I do know, however, that your responses here to me and others over the years show your immaturity.

You seem unable to let this go so let’s review:
You posted some unsupported and incorrect generalizations critical of a state you don’t live in. When I corrected your claims, you failed to acknowledge or apologize for the errors and now, ironically, you attack me and in so doing, demonstrate that very thing.
Fortunately, this forum has a means of making such nonsense disappear.
Bye

I'm envious.

We are expecting -29 F Wednesday night under the Big Sky which with the wind chill will feel like -40 F.

We had an early arrival of winter, our first snow occurred November 1st and there has been snow on the ground ever since.

29 F is shirt sleeve weather in Montana.

Many moons ago I worked in oil surveying in and around Wolf Point Montana and...in the winter and...outside. Absolutely no wind breaks. I seem to remember -20 degrees. Beautiful country in the summer though and no Palmetto Bugs like in Florida!

What is a Palmetto bug???? Oh, Google searched, the American Cockroach, nope don't have any of those.

I recall visiting Disney World's water park in December a couple of decades ago with my young daughter. The daytime high was in the low fifties, we pretty much had the entire place to ourselves, had a terrific time with a long day of swimming, sliding, tube riding, etc. I guess Floridians and Snow Birds don't like to go swimming when it is below air conditioning needed temperatures.

I can't imagine what the water park must be like in the summer season, long lines and crowded pools.

Would welcome a respite trip to Florida or to the Carib at this time of the year.
