Cape Fear to Georgetown (Winyah Bay)

I'm tired of the ICW ditch and want to jump out from Cape Fear to Georgetown through the Winyah Bay entrance. I read mixed things about this entrance so if anyone has done it and is willing to share I await your experience words.

Re: Cape Fear to Georgetown (Winyah Bay)

Since no one on CF knew I'll tell you the answer:

Don't go in during an ebb tide and especially don't go in aganist an ebb tide and the wind blowing it. The channel is narrow and the sides are lined with shoal and rocks.

Ebb tide slows 2 hours after high tide and entering 2-3 hours after low tide will allow you to run the current up to Georgetown.
