Carrying an Extra Battery

Just wondering if any of you experienced cruises carry an extra Battery on board?

The acquiring of a replacement in foreign ports can be expensive or even an off beaten path marina..so if you were to say loose a cell in a T 105 does it make sense to have an extra brand new one waiting in the wings?

We never set off in the Sea Ray with out an extra new hot starting battery just in case...we never needed it but it was more comfort to me knowing I had one then the GPS.

Just seems prudent to me to have an extra house bat in the wings especially if your off shore.

I wouldn't bother. If your crank battery fails, use the house batteries to start the engine.

Batteries are everywhere - more so in remote places where there is no reliable power supply
