As we are getting ready to cruise the Bahamas and North Carrib. we are looking for a cell phone and provider that will work for phone coverage and computer uplink. Has anyone had good luck with one? Any combo phone ,computer...computer skype wifi phone etc

The only difference between Jesse James and Batelco (cell phone) is Jesse had a gun. Cumputor and wifi cost you in Abacos (marsh Harbor) as well. The only thing free in the Bahamas is the wind.

We had issues with spotty cellphone coverage along the coast of Maine. The Bahamas are likely to be spottier. Where there was service, the AT&T internet linkup worked pretty well for emails and quick research on restaurants to check out.
