Cheapest Boat Yard in CA ?

I am having my boat trucked accross from the East Coast to So Cal and need somewhere to launch her then prepare and provision her for the trip to New Zealand.
I am working on a very limited budget.
Also does anyone know any good free places to anchor or a cheap swing mooring?

The coastline of California is about 850 miles. In about the middle of it is the California delta. I'm from So Cal, so I could not take advantage of the prices I saw last time I looked, but it made me cry.

So Google California delta boatyards for a start. But better you narrow down where in CA you're thinking of.

The clo$er to LAX, the more $$. In the South Bay/ Long Beach area you can splash OK. But free/cheap anchorage?.. no cigar. But in the delta area I saw prices comparable to what I'm now paying in Mexico for dry storage. That would not be far north of SF, the northern limit you mentioned.

And beautiful area too.

We have our West Sail 32 at Al Larson's Boat Marina on Terminal Island between San Pedro and Long Beach. Our mooring is $280 a month, there are boat yards just up the channel, and the best part is that this little know marina is the closest to open water and Catalina Island. Good luck with your move.
