Cleaning Hull Lining Carpet

We have carpet type lining to the inside of our sleeping cabins.

It is in good condition but a bit grubby.

Any experience on best way to clean?
Thinking maybe cleaners or steam cleaning?

Re: Cleaning Hull Lining Carpet

We spent lots of time cleaning ours with various cleaners but, no matter what we used, after a few weeks it wouldn't pass my wife's smell test. (she has a very sensitive nose) I suspect the odor seeps through from the foam backing which is bound to get moldy eventually.
We finally gave up and ripped it out, insulated with Armaflex and covered that with 1/8" teak. It looks nice, adds comfort and doesn't smell.
