Compatibilty of thinners

Have interlux 216 thinner for brushing and spraying. Plan to use Easypoxy Pettit product to paint an exterior strip along my cabin top. the thinner is Xylene, benezene and ethyl something. Pettit doesn't list the ingredients of its thinner.(proprietory) won't answer me. Does anyone have any wisdom on the compatibilty. Hate to buy another product when I have a good one.

Re: Compatibilty of thinners

Anything that dissolves and then evaporates will work. You could use acetone or lacquer if you wanted but it evaporates to fast. Always do a test strip

Petit is a Polyurethane paint and contains xylene as a solvent.
So Interlux Thinner can be used.
Never use more then 5% for brushing unless manufacturer specifies otherwise.
Xylene is more adapted to spaying as it flashs much slower than acetone.
Follow Petit instruction manual for spraying.
Petit 121 thinner is xylene. Even if product receive is proprietary you can always find the SDS data sheet.
If a company doesn't not supply SDS they can't sell much in America.
