Pete, if you have the Cat rule book, read it as I think you only have to show one bolt, then it is upto the disgression of the surveyor.
The second point is, I don't think the surveyor has to make you pull the bolt. The entire process is discressionary.
If you want further questions answered, try contacting John Evans evans-GP4@xtra.co.nz
Hes a heck of a nice guy and very approachable. He helped write many of the rules as I understand it and is a surveyor. He can tell you exactly what is needed in this situation.

Brrrr, bloody freezing here today. Worse still to come tomorrow. Big icy Southerly blast from Antartica on it's way.

Anyone in the Caribbean need a crew?

I have been wondering about Pete up in Auckland. That storm was predicted to bring 60kts up there.
It just warmed up here tonight and started raining heavely. I think it is that warm belt before the cold swings onto us.

Three trips out with the punters today. Damn tourists. Double reefed & good fun even in the rain.

We just had a bout of amazing thunder and lightning. Pissed down for about 20 minutes, blew a gale and then stopped. Still outside now.

I have just realized that this link is basically a kiwi one, I clicked on it out of curiosity having crossed the strait many times (by Ferry) and found after reading the first page of posts that they were were 2006 ones, only till I went to the last page did I find out what you are currently discussing.
I'd rather be here in the North than down in Wellywood at present, wet, yes, windy, yes, cold, not really.

Whole country is pretty crappy this time of year. Don't think it matters where you are.

Not a good time to come check on our other island.....You NZs stay warm and out of trouble.... Yep just checked it again and its still at 50 and will be between the north and south islands in about 1/2 hour. Cook Straight will be hell...09:16:12 UTC

It is funny Coops, the isobars are real close yet there is not much wind here at the moment. We are about 10 miles from the edge of the Strait. I would say it is pretty windy in the strait. We have had some gusts, a small squall and a bit of hail earlier but all seems to be quiet again.

It's blowing here and the wind goes through you like a knife. It's freezing. It's sunny, but has rained in the night. We have a lot of snow on the hills around us. Have to travel to CHCH now and will be back tonight, hopefully in time to see the Big Race start. Hopefully there is no ice on the road tonight. It's still snowing very heavily down south. This lot is coming straight off the Antarctic and there is another front follwing closely behind that is supposed to be even colder.

Go Black Magic!!!!

Drive carefully Alan and don't rush back to watch the race. Set the video just in case.
