You can enter both Thailand and Malaysia with a cruising yacht. It is just not cheap or that straight forward.

Plus you have the unease of what will you do next when your visa expires. You can't plan on jumping over to the next door country to get a quick, new visa.

Well the countries you listed are next door to one another so with the right visa you can hop between them every 90 days until COVID has died down.

But you can't because of Covid season. Lots of costs and issues getting premission to enter. Pre- covid and it was easy to hop back forth to re-up your visa.

And they are starting to talk about reducing quarantine for flying in...if you have the vaccine.

Interesting that several western countries are wringing their hands over vaccine passports but in reality, it's been done for years with diseases like yellow fever. It may just be a card showing vaccination as opposed to some special "passport" but it amounts to effectively the same thing if enough countries call for it.
