Crossing the Gulf?

hey everyone, hope life is good for you all. I'm wanting to leave texas in late november and head south with my first stop being isla mujeras.
in your opinion is that a good plan, if not, when is the best time? just very eager to get back on the water cruising again.
your input would be great.

thanks, Troy
