Cruising to Cuba with pets

We are planning a trip to Cuba in the near future and would like to understand what their policy might be on pets. We have a cat aboard......actually the Admiral.....and would like to know if anyone has taken animals in and out of Cuba. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
