Current and accurate weather

In planning a trip to the Bahamas and then the western Caribbean. What is the best way to get daily accurate weather reports?

Re: Current and accurate weather

I cant give you precise information on that matter yet but..

windy.com seems to be nice.

Garmin sells things with something called Inreach
https://explore.garmin.com/en-US/inreach/

Then there is something called GRIB.

I am still working my way through this subforum Weather | Gear, Reports and Resources - Cruisers & Sailing Forums

Well that is where I am with learning the weather.

I really like the L-36.com marine weather. It gets used alot around this marina.

Re: Current and accurate weather

We use predictwind, weather4d pro and if you have SSB check out Chris Parker at https://www.mwxc.com/
For outside of cell range check out the Iridium Go/predict wind combo.

Have fun!!

Only works for USA locales.

Re: Current and accurate weather

We have been subscribed to Chris Parker for the last 4 years and plan to use him this season in the Bahamas.
There are impressive online apps Windy being a personal favorite and no reason to be weather ignorant if you spend some time. However when you are making a go no go decision nothing is more comforting than to quiz Chris directly on the morning SSB net. Once offshore the " what do I do now " scenario benefits from all the good advice available. Not to say he can't get it wrong but you will seldom be surprised.
We don't have internet away form cell phone data so its SSB or nothing much.

A second vote for Chris Parker, have been using him since Herb quit. I even get the daily e-mail report year round at home and he usually has a better take on the hurricanes we sometime get here in Eastern NC.
