Deals at Major Boat Shows

Greetings - I am wondering if anyone who has attended the major boat shows (like the one in Annapolis this weekend), find real deals on parts, enhancements, etc. It is always good to look at boats, even those for people six pay grades above. however for the tangible equipment, provisions, etc.- is it any better than the internet? Or a better place to compare?

For the few small things we were looking for in Annapolis, the deals were not very good - 15% off MSRP, and we could get better deals on the internet. I looked at watermakers from several brands and the deals ranged from 0% (some free chemicals thrown in) to 15%.

I didn't find many god deals either (Annapolis) however, if you go back Monday afternoon, vendors may be more likely to sell you their show item so they don't have to take it back

Defender has some special "boat show" prices but you don't have to be at the show to get them. Was there yesterday, croud much smaller than usual, 25% fewer boats. Hunte, Catalina, and Beneteau had fewer boats to show. Shannon had a very weird motor sail "hybrid". Good deals on weather wear. Boat manufactures are in deep do-do, some may not survive Obama.
