Design your own

Have you ever tried designing your own boat had a go today and I end up design a kinda of motor sailer it really makes you think about what you want in a boat.

You may not like my design but that's what I end up design due to what I think my needs would be.

Re: Design your own

Maybe think it up then hire a pro naval architect to draft the idea up?

Hiya Skinny! I do not fault your creativity in trying to design a boat. When approaching a marine architect, you'd present him/her with a list of what you'd like to have in your boat; an extremely expensive proposition, building one of a kind.

The boat that you designed, has weight/load distribution issues that will render it unstable under any condition. Remember...what you construct above the waterline must be balanced, so that it will not tip over. I didn't see a keel...is that a flat bottom boat/V-shaped bottom? Enjoy!

It has twin keels however it's not what it looks like it's when u give it ago u realise what u want in a boat it make u think about the layout and how things could be easier on our own boats if we had a design input I mean layout kinda things

Re: Design your own

Hiya Skinny! A boat with twin keels at opposite ends...will be tough to steer/maneuver! Consider doing some refinements! Start by reducing/redesigning the layout above the water line; think of a bullet-shaped design to reduce wind resistance! Good luck!

Re: Design your own

I was thinking I might like some cannons to deter pirates and feral cats. Possibly a mini sub.
