Or it will go the way of previous bubbles, South Seas and railways shares and tulip futures, and just fall over one day.

Re: Dutch backpackers buy boat to escape from Covid-19 in Australia

Regardless how you try to push away the facts, the inevitable absolute FACT is that, YOUR central bank is going to TOTALLY replace cash with a digital coin.

You have NO choice.

THEIR digital coin will be on a "Blockchain" just as the original was, still is, and always will be... and it is... Bitcoin.

Bitcoin CANNOT be abolished, stopped, forged, faked, centralized, inflated.
It is border-less, permission-less and censorship resistant.

No government or central bank can ban or stop the existence of Bitcoin... PERIOD.

Your central bank IS going to replace bank notes (cash) with a digital currency... BUT without the freedoms that exist with Bitcoin. Their "Coin" will be 100% centralized, and it will be "inflatable" just like our "Cash" currency system we deal with today.

The "new" currency system will be digital, NOT cash... there will be NO physical "Coins, notes or currency".

Just like oil yesterday... got shares in Exxon, by any chance?

The FED is going to "Print" 10 to 30 TRILLION US$'s to bail out the Fracking industry in America in the coming few weeks and months.

The "OIL BUBBLE" bursted yesterday. The US$ has now officially become a bubble also.

In Australia we had a "Toilet Paper" bubble, then a Pasta and rice bubble... 2 months on there is still no toilet paper or pasta on the supermarket shelves in my country.

You idiots are living in a "bubble" and you cannot even see it.

Sorry Admin... but the facts are the facts.

If I was these two backpackers, I would be applying for asylem and citizenship in Australia, not sailing back to Europe.

Re: Dutch backpackers buy boat to escape from Covid-19 in Australia

There are almost 600 Hilton Hotels around the world... they just became obsolete... period. Hilton is only one of hundreds of Hotel chains around our world.

The majority of these hotels and resorts will never re-open. They will be sold off to property developers who will install a small bathroom and kitchen in each room, maybe joining two rooms into one, and they will become apartment buildings, and in another 40 years they will be slums.

Re: Dutch backpackers buy boat to escape from Covid-19 in Australia

Oil is not a bubble. It's problem is over production coupled with decreased consumption. Materiel wealth is being produced with insufficient consumption.

I'm fairly certain that the immigration authorities will give them visa extensions if they need to stay longer. If they do a slow cruise north and across the top by the time they get to a departure point they should well and truly be able to navigate their vessel properly.

Most of the financial transactions which take place today do not involve cash. They are just numbers which change in bank records. Bitcoin will not work in the long term unless it has national governments standing behind it with some connection to material wealth.

He knew he couldn’t sail the boat on his own and the very next day after his purchase, by pure coincidence, 23- year-old Daniel Wiessing put out feelers on a Dutch backpacker Facebook page to see if there was any interest in sailing back to Amsterdam in a not-yet-purchased "corona-free catamaran".

Bit of a mixed up story.
Purchased,
Not yet purchased
Ferro ketch
Catamaran?

He knows boats.

OKaaaay.... Let's stick to facts then.

Here is one - there was never a "Toilet Paper" bubble. There was a shortage due to panic buying. Big difference to a "bubble".

FWIW, there is now sufficient TP on the supermarket shelves around my part of Oz and the product is moving normally.

Bitcoin can never have governments standing behind it because it can't be controlled, censored, cancelled, taxed or stopped. It is the antithesis of central bank issued currency. It has mathematical scarcity as apposed to gold which has perceived scarcity, and government issued money which is the least scarce commodity on the planet... apart from dirt maybe.
If governments can issue hundreds of trillions of Fiat currency at the flick of a switch, where is the "material wealth" behind it?

Incidentally, I don't recall ever saying that Bitcoin would replace Fiat currency... I maintain that it will be a very safe investment over time.

Well, Good on them! That was a class act. A good way to get home. A little different from the backpackers in Oz.

It was also nice that they didn't ask anyone for money, because they truly went dutch!
