Electronics, Starting from Scratch
So, I have been cruising steadily for eleven years.My 1980 Southern Cross 39 is due for a refit. That refit is going to include all new electronics. Everything. Open CPN with the Google Earth Overlays as well as Sassy Planet have in the end been far and away the most accurate chart plotters. So I intend to set up my entire system including a PC based Daylight screen on a laptop Static Drive Windows 10 PC based system. This system will include an Transponding AIS. So my questions are...What Systems will best support my PC based system.
I may well keep my Radar a stand alone, but would love it if there is a Radar to integrate to this system...This system will be used as I cruise steadily for the next decade or two
