Re: Excessive rigging tension???

Parlay Revival is a Lagoon catamaran and he already experienced the boat bending inwards as a result of cracked bulkheads. Now he wants to make sure that he does bend the boat again by putting too much tension in the shrouds. Also, with a cat you normally just reef when the apparent wind reaches a particular number. With the gauges you can reef when the load reaches a pre determined point. In hot tropical conditions a 20 knot wind has less power than the same wind speed in 40 degree weather because the air is much less dense. Having those gauges allows you to adjust your moment to reef as temperature varies.
