Farr 46 'Beach Party'

I would like to make contact with the owners of Beach Party (as featured in S Dashews Offshore Cruising Encyclopedia) to share experiences about the Farr 46 design
Any assistance would be appreciated

You might ask Steve to have the owners of “Beach Party” contact you, if they so choose.
Email: info@setsail.com
Fax: 208-908-6087
Phone: 208-991-4884

You might also contact Farr Yacht Design, or other owners, to discuss the design.

Hi Gord, thanks for suggestions, I tried Steve D a while back but he advised he had lost contact. I am already in contact with owners of Mustang Sally and The Night Train (the other yachts afloat, there is a fifth one unfinished after 25 yrs in NZ, came off same mould as mine)- Beach Party is the mystery yacht for us. We also believe there may be a second yacht in USA, built by Alan Smith (who built TNT) but have no details.

Design 326/I - 1996, an ILC 46

“Ninety-Seven”, design 304 - 1993, an IMS 46

“Farr 46", Design 92/2 - 1980, a Cruiser

I did not know there were so many!
Mine and the unfinished yacht are to the original Farr 46 - Design 92 (the design was commissioned by the 2 original owner/builders). Interestingly, altho very much a Farr design, alot of the detail drawings were prepared by Roger Hill, who was Farr's chief draftsman at the time. Roger has of course gone onto establish himself as renowned designer in his own right
Beach Party, Mustang Sally and The Night Train are to Design92/2, the revision (different deck layout, interior arrangement and twin spreader rig) was commissioned by Alan Smith for his planned production design.

Hi There, Marinheiro

Just a catch-up post to say we are still very happy with our Farr 46 "The Night Train" and cruise and race her regularly out of Mana in NZ.

Last post on this thread was ages ago. Are you still owner of "Comfort Zone", or have I mixed up boats and owners? Would like to keep in touch with you and compare notes. We have done a heap of improvements to TNT.

Cheers

Mike

Re: Farr 46 'Beach Party'

A friend has the 52 ft model, it's a nice boat indeed and has twin volvo engines which is unusual. It draws a heck of a lot making it somewhat impractical for his needs.

Hi Mike,

How do you get on with clearance in and out of Mana, I would love to pop over there but thought there was insufficient water for 2.3m draw.

Regards Anthony
